Book Review: Shopoholic and Baby

I definitely love this book! Shopoholic and Baby written by Sophie Kinsella is one of the best from Shopoholic series.

Becky Brandon (from the book) is pregnant! She couldn't be more overjoyed; especially since discovering that shopping cures morning sickness. Everything has got to be perfect for her baby: from the designer nursery . . . to the latest, coolest pram . . . to the celebrity, must-have obstetrician

Although, my mom considers this book quite not useful I believe it is amazing to read and laugh. Yes, it is a bit silly but you can't always read serious books, can you? :)

“Everyone knows the first rule of business is "Look good during confrontations." Or if it isn't, it should be.”
― Sophie Kinsella, Shopaholic & Baby

Karl Says...

KARL LAGERFELD has offered his tips with what to do in Paris...

SHOPS: “My favourite shop is Colette on Rue Saint-Honoré”. “For jewellery I go to Lydia Courteille on the Rue Saint-Honoré and for books Galignani on Rue De Rivoli, and my own bookshop, 7L on Rue De Lille. For clothes I shop at Dior Homme and I buy my paper at Sennelier. It’s next door to where I live - it is the most famous place for paper, pencils and stationery.”
CLUBS: Although he names Raspoutine, Club Le Baron and Le Montana as the coolest places to spend an evening out in the city, he himself prefers a quieter social life.

DINING: “I love to go La Maison Du Caviar because they have the best caviar in the world - there is nothing like it and I have been going since I was 16 or 17,” he said. “I also like the atmosphere and food in Café De Floré.”

My trip to Uzbekistan

One of my recent visits was to Uzbekistan, country in Central Asia. It shares borders with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. Before 1991, it was part of the Soviet Union. I could only visit two cities in four days-Samarkand and Bukhara but it was worth that. I was really impressed by beautiful roads and very clean city. About food my situation was a bit different. I had a nice diet. People in Uzbekistan are quite hospitable and restaurants are very different to european ones. Table was full of everything every single day but it was cooked in a different style so all I was eting was cheese, tomato and bread. Bread is definitely something I must write about in this post. It was very tasty. And the best one was in Samarkand. I also visisted 'bazar' in Bukhara which is something so nice to experience especially, if you live in Europe.

Heel Designs by Kobi Levi

Israeli footwear designer Kobi Levi uses his wild imagination to create some of the most unusual high heels. To be honest, I doubt that people will have the courage to wear some of them in public in the near future.

Hands On! Nail it Right!

The second thing one notices about another’s appearance, during initial face-to-face greeting, are hands. The first, are of course  the shoes.  To the sophisticated observer, your hands and your manicure tells who you are, what you do and so on.

The most common nail color trend on the runways this spring is minimalist nude – seen at Mark Jacobs, Tom Ford, and Christopher Kane. For the people with a usual feeling of seeker there is no lack of ambitious colors like Dolce & Gabbana had.

Personally I prefer french manicure or red for cold seasons but for summer I prefer different shades of pink and all other colours with no limit. If you insist on french I would recommend french in colours other than white and light pink or beige.
